Cattery Diary
Here we chronicle some events in our cattery. Happy news, sad news - it's all here and part of life as a cat breeder. We started this as a blog before anyone knew what a blog was. Eventually, we began posting these news items to our Facebook page only and since Feb 2008 this diary/blog has been neglected. Until now - Sep 2023. See 2023-09-16 New Website

| September 21,2000 Golden Seal Birmans was blessed with two litters born within 12 hours of each other on August 26 and 27. We had planned for 3 kittens each from each of our tortie point queens, Picabo and Huey. Sadly Picabo delivered one baby outside of her baby box and at a different time to the others so it was lost, but the remaining two of hers which are boys are a blue and a seal and are fine. Their dad is GC Mr. Shalimar Uluru Sunrise. Huey then had 3 girls, two seals and a tortie, our first 5th generation kitten which we can show in CFA !! Their dad is CH Koalakats Sweet Success of Tai Ming. We're to the toddling stage now and babies are getting more adventuresome by the day. Since the mothers are mother and daughter the litters are combined and that makes the babysitting (and feeding and cleaning up) chores easier. One mom can go on a "break" while the other one looks after the children. One boy, the seal, who was bigger than all the others from the start has been named XL Biggers, or Mr. Big. He certainly lives up to that moniker ! His blue brother is Xp-alidotious. The tortie girl is going as Xtra Sweet Tea and the two seal girls are awaiting their names. (This is of course the "X" year in the Birman naming convention) Their human mom, Debbie, took some great photos of them last weekend when they were 3 weeks old which are posted here. Check them out and stay tuned for the next installment. |
