July 17,2000 After a hectic season of parties and plans leading up to the marriage of our daughter at the end of May and then extended visits from relatives, company conventions etc. it would seem it's time to post to the cattery diary. Our sweet little seal girl, Willow, has been showing since she was a kitten and has done very well from the start. She adores going to cat shows and takes her cute pills daily. At the end of June I got Willow back from her other family, Laurie & Wendell Patton in Columbia, SC, and we hit the show trail in championship. We drove to Collinsville, IL, for a show near the end of June to meet some other breeders and swap out Willow's big sister, Wisteria, with another seal girl so we could do the breedings we all wanted. Willow got her winner's ribbons at that show and Wisty went off to meet her lilac beau. Then we came home and gave Willow a couple of weeks off before the real competition. Last weekend we went to Winston Salem, NC, for the Cats in Heat show along with our neuter friend, Salem. We had a very successful weekend with Salem coming home with an additional 12 points (he's now up to 30 of the 75 he needs to become a grand premier) and Willow came home with 89 of the 200 points she needs to become a grand champion. We'll be going again this next weekend to Huntsville, AL, for another show. We hope to make further progress there. Check back for the latest details. We have no kittens at this time but have bred our two tortie girls as well as Willow's mother and father again so we're just waiting to see what develops. |
