June 8, 1999 It's the end of week 1 for the kittens and things have calmed down a lot from last week. Peti and Tinkie have become great co-moms. They both take turns looking after the kittens. They are often seen with their legs wrapped around each other or heads propped up on each other. We also frequently spot them lying head to tail forming a nest for the babies to crawl around in and offering them a choice of milk bars. I noticed today that at least one baby is beginning to have an eye open. It won't be long before all the eyes are open and then the kittens will be able to SEE what is going on and it will be Katy, bar the door all over again.

It is easy to tell which kittens are Peti's and which are Tinkie's, at least for now. Tinkie's babies have ears which are grey all the way from the tip to the base. Peti's babies have only the very tips of their ears just the very slightest bit a pale, pale grey. I hope this means that they will be chocolate or lilac or at least blue. It is so exciting to watch these developments.
