August 11, 1999 The four babies went in for their first shot a couple of weeks ago and have since entertained a number of visitors. The smallest seal kitten has been deposited, but we are still waiting to decide on what to do with the lilac girl, Wisty. The vet wanted us to wait a while before doing her blood typing. Her markings are still so pale that we have to get her in just the right level of dim light and squint just so to tell anything about her markings and we are still not at all sure. I guess we'll just have to wait to see how things turn out. Paul keeps coming up with new levels to hang up in the kitten pen so the kittens have more choices. We have 2 hammocks, a shelf and now a carpet square made into a trampoline with chain to hold it in place. The kittens are hilarious when they sleep with their heads hanging out the sides of the hammocks. When they are out running around they love to get on the cat tree and in only a few days they have learned to scamper up and down with ease. They found a shoe lace in the toy box and it has become the toy of choice. The winner is the one who can run up and down with the shoe lace in her mouth for the longest time ! They are so funny ! |
