Cattery Diary
Here we chronicle some events in our cattery. Happy news, sad news - it's all here and part of life as a cat breeder. We started this as a blog before anyone knew what a blog was. Eventually, we began posting these news items to our Facebook page only and since Feb 2008 this diary/blog has been neglected. Until now - Sep 2023. See 2023-09-16 New Website

November 12, 1999 It's amazing that in 2 1/2 weeks we can clearly see the markings on the babies. Seals are nothing if not definite ! Their eyes are well open and they are moving around the baby box quite a bit. The next few weeks will begin the fun. They will stay upstairs until they are probably a month old to keep them cozy as it's getting cooler now and it is certainly cooler downstairs. We had a lot of fun at our cat show last weekend. Scarlet did well as always. It is gratifying that after 10 years of showing Birmans that we now are not the only people bringing them to local shows. There were exhibitors from as far away as New York, Arkansas and Ohio with lovely Birmans to show. We also had fun showing Tai Ming's Topper, a handsome seal lynx, for Frances Price. He'll be our show buddy until our CFA breed council recommends that the lynxs and reds be advanced for championship. We also hope to have a late enough generation red factor cat to show by fall of next year. We have two litters coming up fairly soon. We have a seal and blue litter due around the 18th-20th of this month and a red factor litter due around December 6th. Each of these litters will be born at satellite homes and will be raised there. This gives other people the fun of raising kittens and gives the kittens their own doting family. |
