Here we chronicle some events in our cattery. Happy news, sad news - it's all here and part of life as a cat breeder. We started this as a blog before anyone knew what a blog was. | Mar 24, 2002 Our first batch of kittens due this weekend hatched on Saturday evening/Sunday morning. CH Golden Seal Wisteria and GC Mr. Shalimar Uluru became the proud parents of 5 lusty kittens. Since this breeding has some blood incompatabilites, the humans (that would be Paul & me) have to hand feed the babies for the first 18 hours before they can nurse from Wisty. That gives them time to mature just enough that they don't absorb the damaging ingredient in mom's milk. It's similar to Rh issues with humans. Sexes to be determined as they mature. Next we wait for Willow to have her family. She is due today but doesn't look as if today will be her day for delivery. She can't hold her breath forever, though so it shouldn't be too long. |
